According to a spokesperson from the Montgomery County Department of Police, shortly before 2 a.m. on July 26, 2000, two victims were walking along Montgomery Village Avenue when they were approached by Greene, who was brandishing a handgun.

Greene robbed them and raped one of the two before taking off, authorities said. He was identified through DNA matches and warrants were issued for his arrest.

He was taken into custody on Wednesday in Prince George's County and charged with:

  • First-degree rape;

Now, investigators are concerned that there may have been other victims.

Anyone who may have encountered Greene or was targeted has been asked to contact the department's Major Crimes Division by calling (240) 773-5070.
